Original homestead of James G Doherty, in Blackhorse Canyon, 5 ½ miles SE of Lexington on Blackhorse Canyon Lane in Morrow County, Oregon.
You’re on your own. If you plan to stay overnight, be advised that this is a rural area with limited motels, AirBnBs, and campgrounds. You may want to book early.

We hope to once again record family history for our website and StoryCorps in the Library of Congress, as were those recorded during our 2023 reunion. Doherty clan member, Debby Applegate, has again agreed to coordinate this effort. This is a rare opportunity to collect family stories and oral histories so they aren’t lost to time.
Sessions can be scheduled for:

This reunion is a follow-up gathering to the Doherty Family Reunion held in Pendleton, Oregon in June/July 2023.
We hope you can join us for the smaller, less formal, but no less amazing 2026 Doherty Family Reunion!
The reunion is the day before Memorial Day, allowing us to take advantage of the three-day weekend, for those who are traveling.
This is a one-day, free event, but having guests register will help us plan effectively.

We are planning the Doherty Family Reunion 2026 for folks with familial relations to the Dohertys from the Inishowen Peninsula of the Republic of Ireland and Eastern Oregon, USA. The reunion is scheduled for May 24, 2026 in Blackhorse Canyon, Morrow County, Oregon (USA).
This reunion is being organized by and for those with familial links to Dohertys from Inishowen as well as links to folks in Morrow and Umatilla Counties in Eastern Oregon, including Blackhorse Dohertys, The Sands Dohertys, and Vinson Dohertys (Doherty, French, Hirl, Kenny, Lindsay, McCabe, McDaid, McLaughlin, Miller, Monagle, Nelson, Turner, among others).
Started as a get together for descendants of John Doherty of the Isle of Doagh, we encourage participation of any additional family of Dohertys that were part of the pre-1900 settlement of Umatilla and Morrow Counties. You're invited to join us as we learn about and celebrate our heritage!
PLEASE NOTE
This is NOT the 2026 Ó Dochartaigh Clann Gathering taking place August 12-15, 2026, in Culdaff, County Donegal, hosted by The O'Dochartaigh Clann Association.
We do, however, encourage you to check out The O'Dochartaigh Clann Association website and information on their 2026 Gathering!
